(Johannesburg, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Greg Parsons, Director of Sales Betradar, spoke exclusively with SoloAzar about the Company participation of the inaugural ICE Africa.

BETRADAR presented it 360-degree betting solutions at ICE Africa

What did you present in the inaugural edition of ICE Africa?

We presented our 360-degree betting solutions, which includes everything bookmakers need, no matter what their size or stage of the business life cycle, to firstly establish a sustainable business. We also discussed options capable of leveraging optimized offerings and the significant market opportunities in the region. It’s the all-under-one-roof range of Betradar services that ultimately allows operators to have the necessary agility in addressing the market in the most effective manner possible.

What feedback did you receive from the visitors?

It was very positive across many aspects, including the amount and type of foot traffic, the diversity of operators attending and the overall organisation of the event.

How did you see this first edition of ICE Africa?

It was a really strong event considering it was the first edition. ICE is a renowned betting industry event worldwide and, as a world leading supplier of data, betting and entertainment solutions, it was a great opportunity for us to showcase our solutions in Africa. It’s therefore something Betradar are highly likely to build upon.

What do you think the ICE brand decided to have their show here?

Africa is an interesting market but it lacks focused and regionally-specific forums and events, meaning there is a limited opportunity for networking and knowledge sharing there. The decision to bring ICE to the continent was therefore a great idea as it enabled these opportunities for the industry.

What is the presence of the company in the continent?

Reflecting our saturation across the globe, we have a high degree of market presence in the continent. As the world’s leading betting data and services supplier, we are the majority provider, covering 70% of the African industry.

How can you describe the gaming sector in the region?

It is a young market still; however, it is one that is in a high state of transition with a huge diversity in market approach and respective success stories.

What are the objectives towards the end of the year for the company?

We are a trusted partner of more than 1,0000 companies in 80 countries across our services. We are looking to continue this so are currently focusing on finalising a number of interesting and meaningful partnerships that we can continue to build on in 2019.

What are the projections for 2019?

It is projected to be a year of great evolution and market shifts. There are some very strong emerging operators in the market so we’re gearing up to support them to help reach objectives. Many SME’s are recognising the shift and proactively engaging with Betradar to help leverage their retail market share into mobile by deploying services that can act as a catalyst to this process. It is definitely the right time for operators to move in this direction with 4G users in Africa doubling, every year. This is a continent-wide shift with almost all of the more established regions already taking huge technological and strategic steps forward in addressing the opportunity.

Will you be present at other shows?

Yes, we attend a number of industry events and conferences across the world but we want to be present at the best, and ICE is certainly one of these. It therefore should remain the number one industry betting show in Africa, and it is one that we will continue to be a part of.
